A Time To Listen

The asa has linked up with the NSPCC and is accredited to deliver the ‘Time to Listen’ module that is aimed at Club Welfare Officers (CWO’s). Whilst it is appreciated that some CWO’s will be trained and experienced in child protection issues, the Time to Listen programme provides the opportunity to consider the roles and responsibilities of CWO’s and the action taken should any incident occur.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children

Learn to protect yourself, the young people you are coaching and your employer by understanding and following good coaching practice. Learn about child abuse and how to handle situations if you have concerns.

Team Managers Training

To equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake a Team Manager role either during local competitions or for overnight stays and travels abroad.

A Club for All

This workshop identifies the benefits of opening up your club, to include a wider membership base - meaning more coaches, players, officials and increased revenue, improved eligibility for lottery funding, and quality ratings such as Clubmark; whilst ensuring the involvement and support of the local community. The ‘A Club for All’ workshop outlines how your club can benefit from reaching all members of the community, and explains how to reach out to them - young people, older people, those on low incomes, disabled people and people from ethnic minorities.

Coaching Disabled Performers

Develop your own coaching knowledge and skills to coach disabled swimmers through inclusive and separate coaching sessions. Discover new ways to adapt equipment and identify appropriate safety and medical considerations to meet your swimmers needs.
